The Brazilian, who had his last fight in the UFC and retired from MMA in April, signed with UFC BJJ in May and will debut on June 4th in Las Vegas (USA). The former welterweight (up to 77,1 kg) title challenger's opponent will be Horlando Monteiro.
The news was shared by the company itself on its social networks last Thursday (21). Durinho's first fight, a jiu-jitsu specialist, will take place at UFC BJJ 9 and is valid for the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg).
For those unfamiliar, UFC BJJ is a league within the world's largest MMA organization focused on promoting grappling fights. As the Brazilian made his mark in the gentle art, now, at 39 years old, he has returned to his 'home'.
