McGregor reacted quickly to the post and adopted an aggressive tone, stating that he intends to 'take good care of his rival' as he did in their first encounter. Following this, the former champion demanded respect for his name with a photo of himself punching the Hawaiian.

The last time McGregor entered the octagon was in July 2021, when he faced Dustin poirier in the confrontation that concluded the trilogy between the two. On that occasion, the Irishman was defeated.
