Video shows Melqui Galvão on call with victims from inside prison: 'I'll be free in 30 days'

A recording released on social media suggests an attempt to get close to one of the victims, amidst temporary detention for accusations of sexual crimes.

In a video released on social media by the profile 'MMA Hoje', Melqui appears in a video call with one of the victims. In the recording, he admits to mistakes and acknowledges that his career may be deeply damaged. Even so, he affirms that the brand he built over the years would remain alive and suggests support as a way to reconnect.

“There’s no name anymore, I’m going to show up to explain what happened, right? About my mistakes, admit my mistakes, right? And say what ended up being fair for me. But the brand continues. Mika is huge, Mika will boost you, my brother, and I’m going to use Mika to boost you. And you’ll have your own space, just like yesterday,” said Melqui Galvão.

Subsequently, the coach attempts to establish a bond of trust with the person he's speaking to, assuring them that he wouldn't let down anyone who decided to help him. He also expresses his conviction that he will be released from prison soon, given that it is a temporary detention, and reinforces his expectation of being able to get back on his feet.

“And you doing this to me (helping), do you think I'm going to treat you badly? Do you think I'm going to fail you? I'll give my life for you, my brother. My prison sentence has a release date, it's a temporary one. In 30 days I'll be free. I'm going to get back on my feet. But I need to do this with you. You don't need to show up,” the coach continued.

Finally, Melqui reaffirms his promise of loyalty and support to those who remain by his side during the crisis, stating that he could help that person achieve goals previously considered unattainable.

"I will not fail you. I will help you reach places you never imagined you could reach. I will honor those who stay with me through this storm," concluded the black belt.
