Alex Poatán was at the center of a major commotion during the press conference promoting the UFC White House, scheduled for June 14th. The Brazilian faces Cyryl Gane for the heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg) and, despite being scheduled to face the Frenchman, ended up being the target of provocations from the loudmouth Josh Hokit, and was later defended by Ilia Topuria.
The confusion began when Hokit provoked Poatan by suggesting that, at some point in his career, he would face the Brazilian and humiliate him, even going so far as to say that he would urinate on the Pataxó.
Poatan countered the provocations by stating that his rival had already been staring at him backstage, but he hadn't dared to confront him at that moment, only starting to act differently in public.

"I don't even know what to say, man. We were in the interview hours ago, he kept looking at me, I said 'call me over' and he didn't say anything. Now here in front of everyone he wants to show off," he replied. Alex Poatán.
Next, Hokit asked Poatan to speak in Portuguese, but before he could finish his provocation, he was interrupted by Ilia Topuria, who even threw water at the American, who ended up being expelled from the ceremony.
