In recent times, the linear featherweight champion José Aldo was one of the biggest critics of the new exclusive contract for the supply of sports material between the UFC and Reebok, but it ended accepting to negotiate with Ultimate's partner brand. Now, despite the troubled beginning, the contact seems to have evolved into a “courtship”, according to coach Dedé Pederneiras, who said that the agreement between the parties should happen soon.

“We are not going to renew with Venum. There is a relationship with Reebok, that is the situation. The relationship is progressing and I believe it will work, it will be a good path for both sides, if it happens. We are negotiating to reach a common denominator. It's a matter of time, I'm almost sure it will come out. I can't say because the contract is not signed. It could be that tomorrow they introduce a clause that we don't like or that we ask for something that they don't like. The contract is only concluded when it is signed, but it is progressing well”, said Dedé, in an interview with the “Combate” channel website.
José Aldo returns to the octagon, already using the Reebok brand, regardless of whether he has signed a contract with the company or not, on December 12th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA). On the date, Aldo faces his biggest rival, Conor McGregor, in the unification of the interim and linear belts of the featherweight division, in the main fight of UFC 194.
