Currently ranked third in the UFC heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg), Alexander Volkov, assessed a possible confrontation against Alex Poatán He indicated the need for caution regarding the Brazilian's move to the division. Amidst the category's movements, the Russian shared scenarios and pointed out who he considers a more accessible opponent to fight in the Ultimate.
While discussing potential clashes at the top of the division, Volkov also remains focused on his next match. The Russian will be in action at UFC 328, this Saturday (9), where it faces Waldo Cortes-Acosta, in an important duel to further consolidate his position among the top names in the category.

According to Volkov, despite the magnitude of a potential fight against Poatan, he believes the Brazilian could face physical and technical difficulties competing in the heavyweight division. He highlighted the greater physical strain of the division and the differences compared to lighter weight classes.

"In the heavyweight division, everything is more intense, you expend much more energy than in the light heavyweight or middleweight divisions. It's a different feeling. I truly believe that fighting in the heavyweight division and in the other categories are practically different sports. You need distinct skills to compete among the heavyweights," the Russian explained in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.

On the other side, Poatan is preparing for a historic challenge. The Brazilian faces Cyryl Gane No. UFC White HouseOn June 14th, in Washington DC (USA), he will fight for the interim heavyweight title. If he wins, the former middleweight and light heavyweight champion could become the first fighter in the organization's history to win titles in three different weight classes.
