Amid the national repercussions of the allegations, Melqui Galvão's defense team issued a statement following the arrest of the jiu-jitsu coach. occurred last Tuesday (28)in Manaus. The 47-year-old professional came under investigation on suspicion of rape of a vulnerable person, sexual harassment, threats and invasion of an electronic device. The investigation began after a 17-year-old girl reported to the police that she had been abused during an international trip to compete. According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat, two other possible victims have been identified, one of whom reported having been abused when she was 12 years old.
