When asked if he had ever had to deal with an athlete with habits similar to those of the welterweight (up to 77,1 kg), the coach denied it and said he would not accept working with fighters of that profile. Despite highlighting that he enjoys watching the fighter from São Paulo fight and understands that partying can help him perform, he expressed his disapproval of the Fighting Nerds smoker's conduct.
"Thank God no (there's never been an athlete like that). I wouldn't train the guy. Look, I like..." Carlos PratesI think he's a hell of a fighter, but I don't agree with the examples he gives. I even apologize to him. Carlos Prates"Drinking, smoking, and partying all night isn't the example you set for a child or young person who wants to get into sports. He's an exception who succeeded, and that's what works for him. If other athletes do what he does, they're screwed. I'm not here to judge anyone. It works for him? Great. Maybe if he went to bed early, didn't drink or smoke, he wouldn't have gotten where he is. But I don't agree with those examples. Although I enjoy watching him fight, I wouldn't coach him. That's my choice," stated the American Top Team coach.
An example for children is Arman, who assaults fans before a fight, headbutts opponents for no reason, slaps opponents in the face, violently throws another opponent off a mat... among other things. pic.twitter.com/YSjUY23v0T
