Carlos Prates He opened up about his personal life and surprised everyone by revealing that he doesn't plan to get married in the future. The fighter, who faces this Saturday (2). Jack Della Maddalena in the main fight of UFC PerthIn Australia, he explained that he prefers to live alone, enjoy his own company, maintain a more relaxed routine outside the octagon, and that his view on relationships has changed over the years.
In an interview with the YouTube channel 'That MMA Girl', the presenter asked how Prates imagined himself in the future: married, with many children, living with friends, or isolated in the mountains. Without hesitation, Carlos replied that he sees himself alone.

The Brazilian, who is fighting JDM in a bout that could put him very close to a future welterweight title shot (up to 77 kg), revealed that he had thought about marriage in the past, but today his priority is to enjoy life in a more relaxed and independent way.
“I think I would end up alone. A few years ago I thought, ‘Yes, I want to get married.’ But as I got older, that changed,” he said.
When casually asked who might have "hurt" him to the point of wanting to live alone, the athlete denied any trauma and explained that he simply enjoys this lifestyle. According to the 'Smoker', the decision has nothing to do with romantic disappointments, but rather with the desire to better enjoy his own time and live at his own pace.
“Nobody hurt me. It’s just because I’m getting older and I just want to enjoy life. I already have my daughter, so I want to travel the world, wake up at 11 am, have a barbecue, eat, and then go back to sleep,” he said.
The Fighting Nerd also told the presenter that he already lives this way in Brazil and described his solitary routine as something that truly makes him happy. He explained that he enjoys spending time alone at home, taking care of his own things, playing video games, and enjoying simple moments without depending on the company of other people.
“I have my house in Brazil and I live alone. Many times I wake up, make my lunch, have a barbecue alone, drink alone, play video games alone and then take a nap. I like doing things alone,” he explained.
Finally, even though the interviewer jokingly suggested that this lifestyle seemed sad, Prates insisted on emphasizing that he feels completely satisfied this way.
"No, I'm happy when I do that," he concluded.
