During the pre-camp held in Sobrália, Minas Gerais, the Brazilian spoke about discipline, overcoming challenges, and the need to truly love fighting to endure the physical and mental demands of a career in MMA.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, while doing a weight training session at the gym, the former middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) champion reflected on the daily effort required to stay at the highest level of the sport. According to him, many people question how he manages to train so hard every day, but the answer lies precisely in pushing his own limits.

"During the fight, it's all this feeling and much more. The sensation of a fight is intense, it's indescribable," he stated.

Finally, in addition to the technical and physical aspects, the São Paulo native also reflected on his choice of a career as a fighter. He emphasized that, unlike other professions, in MMA it is not possible to force someone to follow this path solely due to family influence.

“First of all: you have to like it. If you don’t like fighting, there’s no way. You can’t be like other professions, like a doctor father wanting his son to be a doctor too. You can’t do that in fighting,” he concluded.
