Luke Rockhold, former Ultimate middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), further heated up the atmosphere for the title fight in UFC 328, scheduled for May 9th in New Jersey (USA), by taking a strong stance in the rivalry between Khamzat Shimaev e Sean StricklandIn a direct statement, the veteran showed support for the current division champion and launched heavy criticism against the former champion on the eve of the showdown.
In Rockhold's analysis, Chimaev has a clear advantage in the fight, mainly due to the technical skills he has demonstrated throughout his career. He believes the champion has enough tools to control the fight and even deliver a dominant performance against an opponent known for his aggressive style and constant provocations outside the octagon.

Interestingly, despite being American, the former champion made it clear that he is on Chimaev's side in the matchup against Strickland. And he didn't stop there. In addition to declaring his support for the Russian, he also launched a harsh criticism against his own compatriot.

On one side, Chimaev seeks to consolidate his reign in his first title defense in the UFC 328On the other hand, Strickland attempts to reclaim the top spot in the division in a highly anticipated fight.
The duel is still marked by a rivalry that began during training at Xtreme Couture, where they were teammates. The relationship began to deteriorate over time and, since then, they have exchanged public criticisms, with the two becoming declared enemies.
