After 11 years, it's safe to say that one of the most intense rivalries in MMA history is definitively over. According to José Aldo, former UFC featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg.), the animosity is behind them and a friendship has emerged with the Notorious. The King of Rio spoke about the matter in an interview with 'Jackpot City Casino' last Tuesday (22).

According to the Brazilian, time has improved their relationship, to the point where they communicate privately through social media. Aldo, a Christian, also highlighted his satisfaction at seeing the Irishman publicly demonstrate his faith.
“How is my relationship with Conor now? It’s very good. We text each other occasionally. Recently, I told him I was very happy that he accepted Jesus as his Savior. I congratulated him and everything,” she stated.

The duel between the two marked a very significant period in the history of the sport. At the height of his media fame, McGregor knocked out the Brazilian in just 13 seconds of fighting at UFC 194, a record for title fights in the company. In this way, the Notorious became the new king of the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg) and ended Aldo's undefeated streak, which had lasted more than ten years.
