Patrick Pitbull manifested itself after the defeat to Aaron Pico at UFC 327. The Brazilian was defeated by unanimous decision of the judges last Saturday (11), in Miami (USA), and used social media, three days after the event, to comment on the performance, detail the factors that influenced the result and share the next steps of his journey in the organization.

According to the Brazilian, a clean punch to the eye compromised his vision early in the second round, hindering the execution of his strategy. Even while trying to remain competitive, Pitbull acknowledged that he couldn't impose his rhythm against a more aggressive and effective opponent throughout the fight.

“Hey guys. I’m here to give you an explanation, especially for those who support me and followed my last fight. Today is Tuesday (14), three days after the fight. First, congratulations to my opponent. He was well trained, very fast. Some people said I was doing well in the first round, but I had a drop in performance from the first to the second.

It turns out I took a clean punch to the eye, with my eye open, a straight jab that ended up causing a cut and compromising my vision right at the beginning of the second round. From then on, all I could do was try to protect myself from the punches that were coming. Of course, I tried to attack too, but with little success.

"I was hit with a series of blows throughout the second round. Those who watched saw that I still have stamina, but unfortunately, that was all I could do given the conditions I was in. In addition to the technical explanation, the veteran also adopted a self-critical tone and indicated that he intends to rebuild his path in the category before aiming for title fights again. The fighter reinforced that, despite the frustration, he remains motivated to return to the highest level.

"Despite being upset, I'm okay and aware of what I can still do in this category. I know I need to take a few steps back and rebuild my career before talking about the title again. It was a fight I was very confident in, I believed in victory, but that's what fighting is all about, we're all subject to defeats, and I'm no different."

How was the fight between Patrício Pitbull and Aaron Pico at UFC 327?

In the third round, Pico managed his lead, maintaining control and avoiding risks. Pitbull tried to apply pressure in the final moments, but couldn't change the course of the fight. At the end of the three rounds, the judges awarded the victory to Pico by unanimous decision, marking another setback in the Brazilian's UFC career.
