Renato Moicano rejected any comparison between his most recent performance and Alex Poatan 's style . The Brazilian fighter competed at UFC Vegas 105 , submitting Chris Duncan in the second round. Despite securing the victory with his grappling, the fighter also drew attention for his stand-up performance, staggering the Scotsman, an aspect he expressed satisfaction with, although he dismissed any similarities with the Pataxó fighter.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Moicano detailed the moment he landed the strikes while standing, explaining that he landed a counter straight punch after reading his opponent's attack and then followed it up with a left cross, a signature strike of Poatan.

“I threw a jab, then he threw a straight punch and I saw it. So I threw a counter straight punch and on the way back I threw a left cross. I'm not going to say it was Poatan style, because if it was Poatan style he would have gone down and wouldn't have come back up. He balanced it out a bit, but let's be humble,” said Renato Moicano.
