Held this Friday (3), the official weigh-in for UFC Vegas 115 went smoothly for the main athletes. The main event fighters, Renato Moicano , former lightweight title challenger (up to 70,3 kg), and sensation Chris Duncan , both made weight, confirming the main fight. The second most important fight, involving Brazilians Virna Jandiroba and Tabatha Ricci , is also still on and is very important for the strawweight division (up to 52,2 kg) . However, two fighters did not make weight.
At the end of the pre-fight ceremony, Darrius Flowers and Rafael Estevam fell short and did not fulfill their obligations. The pair needed the screen to weigh in and, even after removing everything, were above the limit for their weight classes, lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) and bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg), respectively, weighing 70,9 kg and 61,9 kg.
This was the third time the Brazilian fighter failed to make weight in four UFC appearances. As a consequence, the fighters were penalized with the loss of 20% of their purses, meaning that this amount will be given to their opponents. The fights continue on the card.
Abdul-Rakhman Yakhyaev also had trouble, and everything indicated that he wouldn't make weight for the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg). However, after an additional hour, the Russian pushed hard and managed to get within the division's limit.
Everything's fine between Moicano and Duncan.
The program began with Moicano being the first athlete to appear. The experienced Brazilian presented himself with a healthy appearance and demeanor. On the scale, the veteran weighed in at 70,7 kg, without any surprises. In the show, the athlete seeks to end his two-fight losing streak and defend his tenth position in the lightweight ranking.
Usually, the professionals chosen by the UFC for the main event show up for the weigh-in right away, but Duncan didn't appear in the first group of athletes. In any case, the Scotsman showed up shortly after and fulfilled his role on the scale, weighing in at the same weight as Moicano. Riding a four-fight win streak, the athlete plans to get past his former training partner to break into the top 15 of the lightweight division.

On the road to the title?
In order of appearance, Alessandro Costa , friend and training partner of Diego Lopes , was the second to weigh in and was within the flyweight limit (up to 57 kg). Just like in the main event of the night, Virna and Tabatha showed professionalism, performed well, and confirmed their co-main event.
The veteran, who competed for the strawweight title and is ranked number three, weighed in at 52,6 kg, while the smiling 'Baby Shark', ranked seventh, weighed in at 52,3 kg. The expectation is that the winner will be even closer to a title fight.
