Cris Cyborg challenges boxing legend, makes an offer of R$ 11 million and mocks: 'Most pathetic woman in history'

A legend of combat sports, Cris Cyborg is not messing around. Last Saturday (28), in Curitiba, the Brazilian knocked out Paulina Cardona in the second round, won the vacant WIBA (Women's International Boxing Association) super-middleweight belt and has already defined her next target. In search of big fights in the final stretch of her career, the veteran made a bold challenge to Claressa Shields.

It's worth highlighting that Shields, 31, is undefeated in boxing with 18 wins, is a multi-time world champion, and won two gold medals at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics in London (ENG) and Rio de Janeiro (BRA), respectively. However, Cyborg doesn't seem intimidated by the athlete's record and made a series of provocations, including mockery. Furthermore, this wasn't the first time the Brazilian has turned her attention to 'GWOAT'.

“8-0 in boxing, WIBA world champion. Claressa Shields , you challenged me to a fight at 69,8 kg (before I had ANY boxing experience). I’m here. I’m willing to move up to 72,5 kg TO FIGHT YOU. I’m willing to offer you 2 million dollars for the fight, but the fight needs to happen before the end of the year. You talk like you’re GWOAT, but you don’t accept that that acronym stands for MOST PATHETIC WOMAN OF ALL TIME,” wrote the MMA legend.

“2 million, more than double the biggest purse of her career. The fight needs to happen before the end of the year. If this fight doesn't happen, it's the fault of that big fool. Someone tell Claressa to stop making cheesy rap songs and go back to the gym. I have 2 million to offer her for a fight, double the biggest purse she's ever earned. She only tells lies,” he concluded.

Legendary Career

Cris Cyborg , 40, has made her mark in MMA. The Brazilian began her career in the sport in 2005 and continues to compete at the highest level. Her resume boasts titles in Strikeforce, Invicta, UFC, Bellator, and the PFL. In the sport , the Curitiba native has built a record of 29 wins, two losses, and one no contest. Her main victories were over Cat Zingano , Gina Carano, Holly Holm , Larissa Pacheco , Marloes Coenen (twice), and Yana Santos.

In boxing, Cyborg debuted in 2022 and is undefeated. In total, the Brazilian has won eight fights, six of them by knockout.
