With both coming off wins, the duel was expected to be one of the most balanced at UFC Seattle . The event, held this Saturday (28), featured a quick fight, where Gabriella Fernandes couldn't withstand Casey O'Neill's firepower. Before the fight started, bookmakers placed the Brazilian as the favorite with odds of 1,86 and the Scottish fighter appeared slightly below with odds of 1,94. However, the duel ended differently and excitingly.

In the first and only round, both fighters started cautiously, investing in punches and kicks, but maintaining distance. At 2 minutes and 40 seconds, Gabriella Fernandes advanced more, landing good kicks. However, Casey O'Neill didn't want to fight all three rounds and went for the striking exchanges in the final two minutes.

With a good sequence of strikes initiated after a beautiful clean right punch to Gabriella's face, the Scottish fighter put the Brazilian against the cage and won by technical knockout (punches) at 1m51sec of the first round.

Now, O'Neill, who had her eighth fight for the organization, has accumulated 11 wins and two losses in her professional record. On the other side, the Brazilian, who was on a great run in the company, accumulating three consecutive victories, updates her record to 11 wins and four losses.

In the penultimate fight of the preliminary card, Lance Gibson Jr. knocked out Chase Hooper in the first round, in a lightweight bout (up to 70,3 kg). The Canadian, son of a former UFC fighter, recovered from his loss to Bobby Green last December and achieved his first victory in the world's largest MMA organization.

Taller and with a greater reach, Hooper took advantage of the moments when the fight was at long range to land good high kicks, but the American's objective was definitely to take the fight to the ground. After a few failed attempts, the American was hit by a strong short elbow strike, which visibly stunned him.

Gibson immediately landed a powerful high kick, then grabbed his opponent's head and delivered strong knee strikes, taking Hooper to the ground and forcing the referee to stop the fight at two minutes and 56 seconds. The crowd, strongly in favor of the American, booed the stoppage. However, Chase didn't seem upset by the referee's decision.

In the post-fight interview inside the octagon with Daniel Cormier , Gibson became emotional and dedicated the victory to his father, Lance Gibson Sr., who was in his corner.

In a bloody battle, Bahamondes resists to the end, but is overcome by Tofiq Musayev.

In the final fight of the preliminary card, Tofiq Musayev and Ignacio Bahamondes started with long-range strikes, focusing on kicks. Musayev tried to find the right time to land knockout punches, but Bahamondes defended well.

In the second and third rounds, Bahamondes landed a good sequence of strikes, pressing for the knockout, but Musayev efficiently dodged. The Chilean had difficulty escaping the Azerbaijani's takedowns. Ignacio suffered from the high volume of punches and elbows from his opponent, leaving the octagon a veritable bloodbath.

However, in the final 20 seconds, Bahamondes managed a sweep and attempted a submission, but without success. Musayev then regained top position, only relinquishing it at the very end of the fight.

With a unanimous decision victory, Tofiq Musayev now has 23 wins and six losses in his professional record. On the other side, Chilean Bahamondes updates his record to 17 wins and seven losses.
