The bad phase of the legendary Israel Adesanya seems endless. Living the worst moment in his glorious career, the former king of middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) suffered his fourth consecutive defeat at UFC Seattle . In the main fight of the event held this Saturday (28), the Nigerian could not resist the power of Joe Pyfer and ended up being knocked out in the second round.

It's true that Adesanya had some good moments in the fight, but, just like in his bouts against Dricus du Plessis and Nassourdine Imavov , he came out worse. In any case, the 36-year-old Nigerian made it clear that, despite this delicate moment in his career, he will not retire, reassuring his fans.

However, despite the veteran's intention to continue fighting, it became clear that his days in the elite of the sport are in the past. Israel Adesanya made history as UFC middleweight champion and became an MMA legend. The Nigerian began his career in the sport in 2012, debuted in the company in 2018, and won the belt in 2019. In his first reign in the division, the renowned striker defended the title five times.

In this discipline, the athlete built a record of 24 wins, 16 by knockout, and six losses. His main victories were over Alex Poatan , Anderson Silva , Derek Brunson , Jared Cannonier , Kelvin Gastelum , Marvin Vettori (twice), Paulo Borrachinha , Robert Whittaker (twice), and Yoel Romero.

Pyfer gets the better of the shootout.

Adesanya started by focusing on kicks. Bigger and stronger, Pyfer sought to grapple and grabbed Adesanya. Alert, Adesanya escaped the clinch and continued to throw kicks. Confident, Pyfer startled Adesanya with a straight punch. Focused, Adesanya landed a good sequence of punches and a knee strike on Pyfer, which stunned him. In response, Pyfer landed a straight punch and a cross on Adesanya.
