Called up to replace the injured Forrest Griffin and face Rogério Minotouro at UFC-114, the American Jason brilz, tells how the organization contacted him to face the Brazilian.
“I got home, put the kids in the bath and thought: I'm going to have a beer now. I opened the beer, I had about two sips, my phone rings and it was Joe Silva (UFC matchmaker)”, said the fighter in an interview with the MMA Fighting website. Brilz also states that Minotouro will be a great challenge for his record.
“At this point in my career, I don't really care who I fight. I just want to be tested. And Minotouro, you know, he’s definitely going to test me,” he said.
“What the hell am I thinking, co-main event in Las Vegas? I'm in! I'm going to play my game plan. If it works, great. If that doesn't happen, well, I haven't thought of anything now”, concludes the good-natured fighter.
The confrontation between Rogério Minotouro and Jason Brilz is on the main card of UFC-114, an event that takes place on May 29, in Las Vegas.
