Joshua Van didn't know who Demetrious Johnson was until recently. The Myanmar representative, who won the UFC flyweight title (up to 56,7kg) after Alexandre Pantoja suffered an injury , revealed that he was impressed watching the legendary athlete in action at ONE Championship, even without knowing that he was a former Ultimate champion.
In an interview with the 'Jaxxon Podcast', Van explained that he learned about the American after seeing him fight in the Asian organization, especially highlighting the knockout he delivered with a flying knee. Despite the impact of the moment, the new champion admitted that, until then, he had not watched any of the former king of the division's fights in the UFC and only later came to recognize Demetrious Johnson 's importance to the history of the flyweight division.
