Marcos Parrumpa believes in Alex Poatan 's potential . The American Top Team (ATT) coach heaped praise on the Native American fighter and projected a duel against Frenchman Ciryl Gane in the Ultimate's heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg). According to Parrumpa, the current light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg) has an advantage in a potential fight.
In an interview with Portal Vale Tudo (PVT), Parrumpa was direct in saying that Poatan would do well in the heavyweight division because of his strength and striking skills. According to the coach, the striker is a real danger to any athlete and weight class. If he decides to move up, Parrumpinha believes that the fighter will be even more lethal in the traditional MMA division.
"It would be very good if he ( Alex Poatan ) fought Ciryl Gane . Any athlete, in any category, who exchanges blows with Poatan will be at a disadvantage. He is strong even for a heavyweight. He will be more lethal than in any other weight class," said Marcos Parrumpa in an interview.

Currently the light heavyweight champion, the Brazilian has already won the middleweight title (up to 83,9 kg) and is linked to a move up a weight class to further expand his legacy. A potential move to heavyweight would open the way for a direct title fight in one of the most traditional weight classes in MMA.
Names like Jon Jones , Tom Aspinall , and Ciryl Gane have already been linked to a possible fight against the Brazilian in the category; however, no official information has yet been released.
If he manages to repeat his success in another division, Alex Poatan would join an unprecedented group of legends, achieving something no other fighter has ever accomplished in UFC history. However, while nothing is officially scheduled, the champion is focused on the present, leaving no room for speculation about his future in Dana White's organization.
