The Brazilian dominated the action and ended the fight in the first round, applying a spinning kick that led to a technical knockout in the final seconds of the round.

The fight started with a lot of action. In the first and only round, Melquizael was taken down by Ige at 4:20 and was pressed against the cage for a few moments. However, the Brazilian quickly recovered, managed to land a takedown at 3:20 and took control of the fight.

More aggressive, the 'Dalmatian' cornered his opponent against the cage, returned to working in the center of the octagon and began to invest in long-range strikes. High kicks and a strong front kick began to wear down the American's resistance. Ige tried to maintain distance, but with only 10 seconds left in the round, Melquizael connected with a powerful spinning kick, followed by punches, forcing the referee to stop the fight at 4:56 of the first round.

With the technical knockout victory, Melquizael Costa now has 26 wins and seven losses in his career. On the other side, Dan Ige , known as '50K', now has 19 wins and 11 losses.
