More than three decades after stepping into the octagon for the first time to announce Ultimate events, Bruce Buffer has no intention of paving the way for the competition, at least for now. At 68 years old, one of the most recognizable voices in all of combat sports wants to remain one of the organization's communication pillars.

In an interview with Espaitec's Last Thursday (19), the American 'Full Send MMA' dismissed any intention to retire and even made himself available to "compete" with representatives of the new generation of MMA announcers.
“If you’re a broadcaster and you’re watching this, give it your best shot. That’s all I can say: give it your best shot. If you get the job, great, but give it your best shot. I’m not going anywhere. Come on, young people, show your worth,” he stated.

One of the most well-known figures in MMA despite never having fought in the octagon, Buffer recently stated in an interview with the YouTube channel 'Clock N' Loaded' that he intends to participate in UFC 400 before retiring from commentary altogether. By his calculations, this would guarantee him another seven or eight years in the profession.
"I intend to (be at UFC 400), that's a goal. I think I have about eight more years. That's my plan," the presenter stated at the time.
