"I was surprised by myself, by my performance. I had a very difficult weight cut, I fainted four times that night. We were comparing our weight to the UFC scale and it was exactly right. At 8 am, I made weight after fainting four times, thinking I couldn't do it anymore. It was one of the hardest weight cuts of my life.”, said the athlete.

“I couldn’t do the workouts because of my arm, so I had to do a lot of cardio on the bike, which wasn’t working anymore. It’s not an excuse, it’s over, I lost weight, but I fainted four times during the weight cut. I passed out four times, a horrible feeling. I had never experienced anything like it before.”

“After all the suffering, the weight was right, they adjusted the scale and it was 200 grams over. My coach said I wouldn't make weight, that there was nothing he could do, because I wasn't in any condition to do it anymore. I looked at him and said, 'Let's try one more time.' We tried and made weight. There was the time Charles didn't make weight and mentioned the scale, it was the same thing.”, he concluded.
