Kyoji Horiguchi showed that he remains at a high level even after years of his career. At UFC Vegas 113, held this Saturday (7), the Japanese veteran dominated Amir Albazi and won by unanimous decision in the flyweight division (up to 56,7 kg), extending his positive streak in MMA.
From the start of the fight, Horiguchi displayed greater mobility and control of the action. The Japanese fighter landed a good volume of punches and alternated attacks with kicks, including spinning kicks that posed a threat to his opponent. More active, he found openings in Albazi's guard while constantly moving around the octagon. Throughout the following rounds, the veteran increased the intensity, closed the distance with precision, and began to inflict more noticeable damage, maintaining control of the fight until the end.
In the judges' decision, Horiguchi emerged victorious unanimously (30-27, 30-27, 29-28), reaching a record of 36 wins and five losses in his career, in addition to achieving his fifth consecutive victory, a result that could bring him closer to the elite of the category. Amir Albazi, on the other hand , suffered his second consecutive defeat and now has a record of 17 wins and three losses in his professional career.
