Jean Matsumoto failed to maintain his positive momentum at UFC Vegas 113, held this Saturday (7). The Brazilian had some good moments and landed impactful strikes, but ended up being defeated by Farid Basharat , who preserved his undefeated record by winning by split decision.

During the fight, Matsumoto tried to impose his game with takedown attempts, but struggled to control the action on the ground. Basharat responded with a higher volume of strikes and relied on efficient wrestling, managing to score points even when under pressure. The Englishman's technical variety was crucial in balancing the Brazilian's moments of greatest pressure and securing an advantage in strategically reading the fight.

At the end of the three rounds, Farid Basharat won by split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29), reaching 15 career wins and maintaining his undefeated record. In his sixth UFC appearance, the 28-year-old continues his rise and is approaching the top 15 of the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg). Jean Matsumoto , who was coming off a victory over Miles Johns in August 2025, now has 17 wins and two losses in his professional record.
