Carlos Prates starred in a moment in UFC 325 which went viral for a good cause. In the question and answer session to promote the event, which took place last Friday (30), in Australia, the Brazilian gave a moral lesson to a fan who mocked Ian Gary and attacked his wife. Upon learning of the athlete's statement, the Irishman displayed sportsmanship.
On his official Instagram account, Garry made a point of thanking Prates. At the event, a fan asked if the Brazilian had had sexual relations with 'The Future's' wife. Immediately, the member of the 'Fighting Nerds' academy shut down the tasteless joke and issued a warning to followers who provoke fighters.
As he often suffers from such attacks, Garry expressed his admiration for the Brazilian's honorable conduct. It's worth noting that the athletes faced each other in April and developed a good relationship. On that occasion, the Irishman won by unanimous decision.
“I have a lot of respect for you, brother. Thank you for that perfect response. Men who speak like that make a difference. In every community, in every way. Thank you so much,” the Irishman wrote.
Prates' response to the fan
“I’m the kind of guy who, where I come from, you can’t speak ill of someone’s wife or family. They can literally kill you if you say anything about their family. We are great rivals inside the octagon, but outside of it, we respect each other,” said the Brazilian.
