Paulo Borrachinha , currently ranked 12th in the Ultimate's middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg), provoked Diego Lopes . The featherweight fighter (up to 65,7 kg), known for his aggressive style in the octagon and his fringe, lost the opportunity to win the category's belt against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 325 , held last Saturday (31), in Sydney, Australia. Before and after the event, the Minas Gerais native published provocative messages to the Brazilian athlete, who represents Mexico in the organization.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Borrachinha conditioned Lopes' nationality on the outcome of the title fight. If he won, the athlete would be considered Brazilian. However, if he lost the fight against 'The Great', which happened last Saturday, the 'fringe' would be recognized as Mexican.
"If he wins, he'll be Brazilian; if he loses, he'll be Mexican," the fighter from Minas Gerais said on X, formerly Twitter, before the fight's outcome.

Following Diego Lopes ' defeat to Alexander Volkanovski , Paulo Borrachinha made a point of returning to his social media profile to declare that the athlete is Mexican, not Brazilian.
"Yes, it's confirmed that he is 100% Mexican," Borrachinha said after the fight.
