Jean Silva believes that Alexander Volkanovski is avoiding facing him in a UFC featherweight title fight. After defeating Diego Lopes in the main event of UFC 325, held last Saturday (31), the Australian publicly indicated his desire to face Lerone Murphy or Movsar Evloev in his next title defense. However, this stance was not well received by the Brazilian, who believes that the attitude is not consistent with the responsibility of a champion.

In a social media post, Jean Silva stated that a true belt holder must be willing to face any opponent indicated by the organization, without choosing their opponent. According to the fighter, it is the champion's duty to defend the title whenever requested, regardless of who is on the other side of the octagon.

Volkanovski points to Jean Silva's jealousy over his partnership with Maurício Ruffy.

Jean Silva expressed his dissatisfaction after Alexander Volkanovski left him out of his immediate plans for a title fight. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, the Brazilian publicly questioned the UFC featherweight champion's stance.

During the post-UFC 325 press conference, Volkanovski commented on Jean Silva 's reaction and attributed the Brazilian fighter's discomfort to his recent training partnership with Mauricio Ruffy. According to the Australian, the situation was taken personally by 'Lord', to the point of creating a distance on social media.

“I think he (Jean) was a little upset about this whole thing with Luffy (training with the Australian). I think Jean Silva took it personally, he doesn't even follow Luffy anymore (on social media). I don't know why he got so upset about it,” said Alexander Volkanovski at the press conference.
