An unusual event may have sealed the fate of the welterweights (up to 77,1 kg) of the world's largest MMA organization. Behind the scenes of UFC 324, an event held last Saturday (24), in Las Vegas (USA), Islam Makhachev , champion of the category, simply had a face-off with Kamaru Usman , former king of the division, under the watchful eye of Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The footage was shared by the official ' Paramount UFC' Instagram account. In it, the company's Hall of Famer asks the top welterweight fighters to calm down. However, the comment was just a joke, as the three stars of the organization are longtime friends and share the same manager (Ali Abdelaziz). In any case, the face-off between the Russian and the Nigerian already serves as promotional material for the possible superfight to happen next, since both agreed to face each other.

Currently, 38-year-old Kamaru Usman is ranked eighth in the welterweight division. However, with champion Islam Makhachev 's interest in the fight, the veteran could jump the queue and leave behind Carlos Prates , Ian Garry , Michael Morales , and Shavkat Rakhmonov in the race to challenge for the title.
