Beyond the great fights held at the first Ultimate event in the Paramount+ Era last Saturday (24), UFC 324 also provided a very special moment for an octagon legend. The inclusion of former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg) Dominick Cruz in the Hall of Fame of the world's largest MMA organization was announced. The announcement was made after the end of the preliminary card.

As usual, the company played a video showcasing the best moments of the former champion's career. Cruz, who officially retired last February, worked as one of the event's commentators and was visibly emotional upon receiving the news.

The Dominator had his first fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2011, already as champion, as he was also the last fighter to hold the WEC belt. With unprecedented movement in the sport, he defeated legends like Demetrious Johnson and Urijah Faber without much difficulty. However, several knee injuries kept him away from the octagon for years, until his return in 2016.
After that, he did the impossible by regaining the crown and dethroning TJ Dillashaw . However, after his defeat to Cody Garbrandt in December 2016, he was once again forced to leave the sport due to injuries. His last appearance was in 2022, when he was knocked out by Marlon Vera.
