Former UFC fighter, Lavar Johnson was arrested after giving his girlfriend a real beating in the city of Fresno, in the US state of California, at the end of August.

According to the North American website “TMZ Sports”, Johnson, who also has experience with Strikeforce and Bellator, argued with his girlfriend and then hit her several times: he threw her against the wall and the floor, kneed her several times in the face and head and then punched him 11 times in the face.

According to the woman's statement, whose name was not disclosed, the fighter only backed away when he saw that she was bleeding. The girlfriend then called the police, and Johnson fled – but he was arrested shortly afterwards. The 38-year-old fighter remains in prison almost two months after the episode, with bail set at US$120. His trial will begin on November 20, and, if convicted, he could face up to 10 years and eight months in prison.

Johnson was a UFC fighter between 2012 and 2013, beating names like Joey Beltran and Patrick Barry. After two consecutive defeats, Stefan struve e Brendan Schaub, another case of doping, he was fired. His record in professional MMA is 18 wins and ten losses.
