Carlos Prates made it clear that he's not wasting any time while waiting for his next UFC fight to be decided. The Brazilian showed part of his training routine and reinforced his message of total dedication to his current situation in the organization.

In a recent Instagram post, the sixth-ranked welterweight (up to 77 kg) fighter shared images straight from the gym and summarized his intense routine with a direct message to his fans. “Another week of hard work! Have a good week everyone,” wrote the fighter.

"The Nightmare" has been adopting an increasingly confident tone about the future and has publicly revealed that he received a promise from Dana White about a title fight. Although the UFC president has not yet confirmed the commitment, the Brazilian continues to train hard and fuels the expectation of a great opportunity.

Last Thursday (15), the welterweight had already drawn attention by posting another video on his feed , this time training to the sound of “Negro Drama”, by Racionais MC's. In the caption, the phrase “just waiting for the phone to ring” left the mystery about the definition of his next fight in the Ultimate. At the moment, there is no opponent or date confirmed, but Prates does not hide his desire to compete for the title this year.

Since his debut in the organization in February 2024, Prates has accumulated six wins in seven UFC appearances. His professional record is 23 wins and seven losses, numbers that support the confident discourse of someone who believes he is getting closer and closer to the top of the division. The welterweight last fought at UFC 322 in November 2025, when he defeated Leon Edwards by technical knockout in the second round in New York (USA).
