Paddy Pimblett believes he is on a much higher physical level than Ilia Topuria . About to fight for the interim lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg) against Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 324, scheduled for January 24th, the Briton believes that, should he win, a potential title fight against the Spanish champion would be merely a formality, mainly due to the size difference between them.
In an interview with 'UFC on TNT', Paddy Pimblett highlighted that Topuria would be too small to compete in the lightweight division, emphasizing that weight classes exist precisely to avoid significant physical disadvantages. In the Briton's view, a fight against the Spaniard could have harsh consequences inside the octagon.

“Ilia is very small compared to me. He’s not that wide… Weight classes exist for a reason. If he wants to fight me in the 70kg category, he’s going to get seriously hurt,” said Paddy Pimblett.
