André Dida calls out Popó for the challenge. With everything that happened in the fight between Acelino Popó and Wanderlei Silva at Spaten Fight Night , André Dida, Wanderlei's coach, has made himself available to face the four-time world boxing champion.

André Dida was involved in the widespread brawl at the Spaten Fight Night 2 event. Some time after the incident, Wanderlei Silva 's coach expressed in a recent interview his interest in fighting Popó. Dida believes he can "shut down" the four-time world boxing champion.

Acelino Popó comes out of retirement and is announced at an event.

“I respect him (Popó) because he said he retired, right… So Popó retired… and I said… man, it’s all good. Now… if he continues… fighting with that group of guys… that he keeps picking on… I think then a fight between me and him would make sense. Why? There are a lot of people who want to see him beat me… and there are a lot of people who want to see me beat him…”

I said… wow… I… it would be interesting if I fought him, man… I believe I can beat Popó. I would shock the world in that aspect. If you give me an opportunity, I can take Popó out. Then… that's me thinking to myself. Then his big opportunity appeared. Then his team messed up… then that mess happened in the ring…

And after that, they started comparing me to Popó. Like… what would that be like? So we connected there… we talked… hey… so for me… and… how do I say it… I don't need a purse to fight Popó. So if he says, 'oh, the guy wants to make money off me,' and so on, no, I just want the opportunity…

"So if there's any businessman, anyone who wants to do this, especially Popó, if he accepts this fight, I want to fight you, Popó, it would be a great fight for me and I'm sure I can beat him," said André Dida in an interview.
