Roberto Satoshi will not have fond memories of the traditional Rizin event held on the last day of the year in Japan. This Wednesday (31), the Brazilian suffered a crushing defeat in the co-main event of the grand show. The veteran, 36 years old, was brutally knocked out by Ilkhom Nazimov in just 13 seconds.
And it didn't stop there. The traumatic defeat brought an end to Satoshi's five-fight winning streak and also to his long reign in the Rizin lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), which began in 2021. At the event, the Brazilian attempted to defend his belt for the sixth time, but will return home without the valuable object.

A precise and impactful knee strike.
There wasn't even time for a real fight. In the first few seconds of the important bout, Satoshi and Nazimov went for the exchange and landed blows on each other. The Brazilian landed a good punch on the Uzbek, who responded in kind. Attempting a takedown, the athlete, a jiu-jitsu specialist, was hit by a hard knee strike from his opponent, who proved to be a 'sharpshooter'.
The impact of the blow was so strong that it caused Satoshi to fall unconscious immediately in the ring. Well positioned, the referee stopped the fight right away, preserving the veteran's health. Thus, Nazimov became the new Rizin lightweight champion.
