Being the winner of The Ultimate Fighter, the UFC's official reality show, leaves no fighter immune to the “machete”. This Friday (16), the winner of the 19th season of the North American version announced that he was released from the biggest MMA organization on the planet after a bad sequence of results in the Octagon.
Eddie Gordon made a post on his Facebook page shortly after learning of Ultimate's decision. “I just received news from the UFC that I will be released. I want to thank my friends, family, fans, Dana White and everyone at UFC for this great opportunity. I have no doubt that I will return”, wrote the fighter.
Gordon became season champion by beating Matt Gabel, Mike King, Cathal Pendred and Dhiego Lima – the latter, in the final of the program, was his only victory in an official fight in the octagon. After that, Gordon suffered three defeats: a knockout to Josh Samman, a decision to Chris Dempsey and a submission against Antonio Shoe Guy.
