One of the most decorated boxers in history, Terence Crawford has made a drastic decision regarding his career. Last Tuesday (16), the multi-champion, who impressed by beating Canelo Álvarez in September in Las Vegas (USA), announced his surprising retirement, shocking fans and sports professionals.
On his social media, Crawford bid farewell with a post featuring an image of a glove hanging from the ring ropes. Shortly after the message was shared, the fighter's fans lamented and asked him to reconsider his decision. However, it seems the American does not regret leaving the sport on his own terms, that is, undefeated and at his peak.
"Leaving the scene like a great (fighter), with nothing left to prove #CrawfordEra," wrote the multi-champion of the noble art.
And it didn't stop there. Crawford also shared a video on his official YouTube channel, in which he reminisced about great moments and thanked coaches and fans who accompanied him during his long and successful boxing career.
“I gave this sport every breath I had. Every scar. Every triumph. Every piece of my heart. I’ve made peace with what comes next. Now is the time. I’m stepping away from competition not because I’ve stopped fighting, but because I’ve won a different kind of battle. One where you retire on your own terms. This isn’t goodbye. It’s just the end of one fight and the beginning of another,” said the boxing legend.

Terence Crawford, 38, began his boxing career in 2008 and fought his last fight in 2025. Throughout his career, the American fought 42 times, winning all of them, 31 by knockout, and collected titles in different organizations and weight classes. His main victories were over Canelo Álvarez, Errol Spence Jr., among others.
