Diego Lima has already mapped out the paths for Charles Oliveira to overcome Max Holloway at UFC 326, scheduled for March 6th. In the main event, the Brazilian faces the Hawaiian for the BMF belt and, according to the Chute Boxe leader, the preparation will focus on a victory by knockout or submission.

In an interview with PVT channel, Lima highlighted that Holloway should focus on boxing, an area where he feels more comfortable, in addition to having an efficient takedown defense and good distance control. Even so, the coach emphasized Charles' evolution throughout his career, recalling that the Brazilian arrived in the UFC as a jiu-jitsu specialist, but today combines knockout power, good wrestling, and a high level of ground game. According to him, although grappling might seem the natural path, the fight demands a complete MMA approach, precisely because of the opponent's defensive qualities.

“Holloway is a guy who has very good boxing… He defends takedowns very well, he’ll want to box, which is where he’s good. But Charles is becoming an increasingly complete fighter. He entered the UFC as a jiu-jitsu guy, but he’s already proven that he has knockout power, wrestling, and ground game. Theoretically, the way forward would be to take him to the ground, but we know that on the other side, there’s a guy who defends takedowns very well and controls the distance well, so it’s not that simple. It’s an MMA fight, so we’re going to train MMA to seek a victory by knockout or submission,” said Diego Lima.

UFC 326 may feature more Brazilians besides Charles do Bronx.
