The combat sports community said goodbye to another fighter. This Monday (15), the body of former MMA fighter Gerônimo Mondragon, 45, was found in the Rio Negro, in Amazonas. The information was released by Rony Moraes, undersecretary of planning for São Gabriel da Cachoeira, on social media.

Mondragon had been missing since last Saturday (13), after diving into the river. From then on, the Fire Department team, mainly its divers, worked tirelessly, carrying out searches in the area. According to Rede Amazônica, the body of the former fighter was found about two kilometers from where he was last seen, around 8:20 am this Monday.

Gerônimo dos Santos was a veteran of MMA. The Brazilian began his career in the sport in 2006 and fought his last fight in 2024.
