Melquizael Costa is experiencing a unique moment in MMA. At UFC Vegas 112, an event held last Saturday (13), the Brazilian shone by delivering a cinematic knockout to Morgan Charriere in the first round. Excited by his fourth victory in the 2025 season, the most important of his career, the athlete projected a great 2026.
Unstoppable and brimming with confidence, Melk revealed his plan to challenge for the UFC featherweight title (up to 65,8 kg). It's worth noting that, despite his excellent form, the Brazilian is currently not in the top 15 of the highly competitive division. However, the athlete believes that, with his high fight frequency and fan support, he can overcome the competition and challenge the champion.

“It’s just work. I work a lot, that’s all. I haven’t made any changes to my game or my plans. I simply kept working. Next year, I wouldn’t want to fight so much. For me, just three fights is good. One fight to get into the top 10, the second to get into the top 5, and the last one of the year for the belt. That’s good,” said the fighter at the post-UFC Vegas 112 press conference.

Melquizael Costa , 29, is a UFC featherweight and is close to breaking into the top 15. The Brazilian began his MMA career in 2014 and debuted in the company in 2023. In his career, he has won 25 fights and lost seven. His main victories were over Andre Fili and Morgan Charriere.
