Kron Gracie will not have the opportunity to return to the octagon, at least not this Friday (12). The Brazilian was scheduled to face Tom Picciano for the featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg) at the Victory Fighting League event in New York. However, according to the organization's president, Dan Anderson, the jiu-jitsu black belt was barred by the New York State Athletic Commission, which did not grant the necessary medical clearance for his participation.
Through Instagram Stories, Dan Anderson lamented the fighter's absence and stated that the team is working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible, with the expectation that Gracie can return to the event early next year.
"Unfortunately, Kron will not compete on Friday as he has not received medical clearance from the New York State Athletic Commission. We appreciate your patience and support during this time. We hope to resolve this issue quickly and have Kron back to fight in the new year," wrote Dan Anderson.

Although doctors from the New York State Athletic Commission have not cleared Kron Gracie to compete, the Gracie family member reacted on social media and stated that he is ready to take action. According to the former UFC athlete, the organization has been hindering the process, and all the investment made throughout his preparation could be lost.
It is still unclear what problem led to the cancellation of the fight, but Gracie reiterated that he considers himself fit to compete.
“I’m cleared to fight by all my doctors. NYSAC has been very tough in many ways! I’m very ready and fit to fight! I appreciate all my fans and friends who came, I trained for 5 months and spent a lot of money on this camp, it sucks.”, wrote Kron Gracie.

Kron Gracie has not fought since his knockout loss to Bryce Mitchell , a result that marked his third consecutive loss in the UFC.
