Cris Cyborg has a plan. The multi-time MMA champion is saying goodbye to the sport, but she doesn't intend to hang up her gloves, but rather change them. Cyborg said in an interview that, after retirement, she will seek a world title in boxing. The 40-year-old fighter returns to the octagon this Saturday (13) against Sara Collins for the women's featherweight title at PFL Lyon, in France.
In an interview with 'talkSPORT.com', Cris Cyborg revealed that she is not entirely satisfied with the world MMA titles she has won in five different organizations. The fighter will compete for a world boxing title when she retires from mixed martial arts next year.
“I have this year, next year, and then I’m going to retire. But I love my job. I love working, so that motivates me every day, and I’m very grateful to the fans who have supported me during these 20 years of my career. I always enjoy training, but (it’s good) when you have a fight to train differently, and I really love boxing. I had my first fight in 2022 and now I’ve stopped. When I finish my MMA career, I’ll start training boxing, learning, and I’d like to end my career trying to fight for a world boxing title. I know there are many things to think about, but it’s one of the things that motivates me every morning to train. I’m focused on Sara Collins now, but after that, for sure, I’ll go back to boxing,” said Cris Cyborg in an interview with 'talkSPORT.com'.
Cris Cyborg has not competed in MMA since defeating Larissa Pacheco by points at PFL Super Lutas in October 2024 in Saudi Arabia. Since then, Cyborg has fought three boxing matches, winning them all and extending her undefeated professional record (five wins).

Cris Cyborg told 'talkSPORT.com' that she will have one more MMA fight after facing Collins before returning to boxing to dedicate herself to the goal of competing for a world title.

Cris Cyborg began her professional boxing career by defeating American Gabrielle Holloway via unanimous decision in December 2022 in Nebraska (USA).
According to BoxRec, Cris Cyborg has a record of five professional boxing fights, most of them by knockout. Since her victory against Holloway, Cyborg has won her other four fights by knockout.
Cris Cyborg 's last appearance in professional boxing was against American Precious Harris-McCray, winning via technical knockout in the second round in May 2025 in California (USA).
