In an interview with 'MMA Fighting', the veteran vehemently disagreed with Dana White and attacked Usman. Without mincing words, the athlete stated that his rival was only elevated to that level by the UFC president not because of his performances and achievements in the octagon, but because he is a professional sycophant and well-connected.

“Usman isn’t the greatest welterweight in history. He’s the biggest suck-up, the kind of guy who says, ‘Oh, let’s invite Uncle Dana to the podcast.’ He does it just to stay in Dana’s good graces. He accepts any offer. If you do that long enough, you’ll end up being one of those guys who get rewarded because they took last-minute fights, fought injured, didn’t complain about the money, didn’t ask for more, didn’t ask questions, always tried to be nice. He’s the biggest suck-up in the welterweight division. How can you say that? Once you say he’s better than GSP, nobody listens to you anymore,” said the veteran.
