The only Brazilian participating in UFC 192, an event held this Saturday night (3) in Houston, Texas (USA), came away with a beautiful victory. Adriano Martins scored a beautiful knockout and took away his unbeaten record Islam makhachev still in the first round of the fight, which was part of the attraction's preliminary card.

Martins started the fight respecting the Russian, considered a great promise in the lightweight division. Makhachev even caused some trouble at the beginning, landing good crosses on the Brazilian, who retreated. However, Makhachev opened a gap during an attack and allowed Martins to apply a beautiful cross on the counterattack, hitting him squarely on the chin. The Russian fell to the ground and was rescued by the referee, who declared the knockout just 1min46s into the fight.

In the second fight of the night, an interesting duel: Sergio Pettis, just 22 years old, faced veteran Chris Cariaso, former challenger for the UFC flyweight belt. And the youngest athlete ended up winning.

Younger brother of the former lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis, Sergio dominated practically every action in the fight, controlling the distance well on his feet and mixing it up with takedowns. Still in the first round, Pettis delivered a hard knockdown and almost settled the score. Cariaso, however, threatened in the final moments of the fight, with a heel hook, but to no avail.

In the end, the three rounds gave victory to Pettis, who is recovering from the defeat he suffered in March. Cariaso suffers his third defeat in a row.

Youngest UFC fighter runs over on debut

The UFC 192 preliminary card also saw the debut of Sage Northcutt, who, at 19, became the youngest athlete in the organization today. And his first fight in the Octagon couldn't be more exciting.

The karateka dealt a real blow to the more experienced Francisco Trevino. After throwing a few kicks, Northcutt knocked his rival down and “smelled the smell of blood.” The American threw a series of punches and elbows at Trevino, who was already on the ground, obtaining victory by technical knockout less than a minute into the fight.
