One of the most dominant fighters in MMA, Alexandre Pantoja is preparing for another important commitment. This Saturday (6), in Las Vegas (USA), the flyweight champion (up to 57 kg) faces the dangerous Joshua Van in the co-main event of UFC 323 and is considered by bookmakers to be the favorite to win. Therefore, fans and sports professionals are projecting a super fight between the Brazilian and Merab Dvalishvili , king of the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg). Aware of the possibility of the duel happening, 'The Cannibal' gave his opinion on the matter.

In an exclusive interview with SUPER LUTAS organized by ' Stake ', Pantoja candidly doesn't rule out facing Merab, but prefers to be cautious when projecting the champions' super fight. This is because the pair will be in action this Saturday and, first, need to overcome obstacles. At the show, Pantoja could defend his flyweight title for the fifth time, while Merab seeks his fourth bantamweight title defense. It's worth noting that the Georgian, having cleared out his weight class, has already expressed interest in facing the veteran at 57 kg. However, the Brazilian, who has also been eliminating competition, avoids treating 'The Machine' as an opponent out of respect for Van and recognizing the danger he represents.

“My idea is to win on December 6th. If there is a 7th, I don't know yet, because my whole life, my motivation, is focused on the 6th. I can't reason about what comes after. All my strength and energy is focused on that fight. I think that's how it has to be. I have no idea what will happen the next day. From that day on, we can schedule a new interview and I can tell you what's going through my head. Really, right now, it's Van,” said the champion.

MMA veteran Alessandre Pantoja, 35, made his mark in the flyweight division as a dominant champion. The Brazilian holds the record for most wins in UFC flyweight history (14), by stoppage (8) and by submission (6). His main victories in the organization were over Brandon Moreno (twice), Brandon Royval (twice), Kai Asakura , Kai Kara-France , Manel Kape , and Steve Erceg.
