Sidelined, Tsarukyan plans to 'steal' the fight and belt from Charles Oliveira in the UFC.

It seems that Arman Tsarukyan wants to 'shake things up' in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg). After the organization decided that Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett will fight for the interim title at UFC 324 on January 24th in Las Vegas (USA), the Armenian fighter seeks to remain active in the octagon and is eyeing big fights. Therefore, the athlete could end up harming Charles Oliveira's chances.

In an interview with ESPN, Tsarukyan expressed interest in facing Max Holloway , holder of the 'BMF' (Baddest Motherfucker of the UFC) belt, in his next fight. This would frustrate the Brazilian, who has already made it clear that he intends to face 'Blessed' again and expand his MMA legacy by winning this symbolic title from the organization.

“I hope the UFC can give me a big fight. They should at least give me the BMF belt. What are they going to give me? Who do we have in the division to fight? For me, if it’s not Holloway, there are no names,” said the athlete.

Few options available

Currently ranked number one in the UFC lightweight division, Arman Tsarukyan finds himself in an awkward position. With champion Ilia Topuria sidelined indefinitely to address personal issues, and with the fight between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett , ranked fourth and fifth respectively, now confirmed, the Armenian fighter has few options for a potential opponent.

It's worth remembering that the athlete defeated Charles Oliveira, former champion and current number two in the category, finished Dan Hooker , who holds the sixth position, and lost to Mateusz Gamrot , seventh place. Therefore, Max Holloway , who is third in the standings, is the one left for Tsarukyan to face. But, unfortunately for the Armenian, the veteran has already accepted the challenge made by Do Bronx.
