McGregor had announced months ago that he would be taking an extended online break to focus on physical and mental recovery after suffering a serious leg fracture in 2021.

The comeback happened a few days ago when 'The Notorious' spoke about trauma treatment and said he had a spiritual experience during the process, citing an encounter with Jesus. His return to social media was short-lived before the Irishman reopened an old wound.

"It's unbelievable that the good guy Khabib used his late father's name and the country's culture to sell NFTs and then delete all the content after the sale, leaving the fans ripped off, right?", Conor wrote in one of the posts.

The message garnered over 2,6 million views and sparked comments questioning the Dagestani's stance.

Khabib Nurmagomedov goes after McGregor, and Conor doesn't hold back on social media.

Nurmagomedov didn't let it go easily. According to the fighter, the virtual items were made available exclusively on the Telegram platform.

PUBLICITY:

“You absolute liar. You always try to tarnish my name after it was destroyed that night, but you’ll never succeed. Good people don’t do that… they create unique digital gifts with real-time value that can be shared with friends and family,” he retorted, referring to Papakha, the traditional Dagestani hat, and linking the project to Telegram.

The provocations escalated when McGregor posted again, attacking the semantics of the campaign.

“They just apologized for using your father’s name to sell those expensive ‘gifts.’ Actually, selling is the exact opposite of giving a gift, you low-IQ troglodyte. A scam using your dead dad’s name. Shame on you,” the Irishman replied.

Khabib announces the end of the digital campaign.

Hours after the exchange of insults, Khabib went to X, formerly Twitter, to confirm the end of the digital feud. The post reached one million views, with no further response from McGregor at the time of publication of this text.

"The auction is over and all the papakhas have been sold! Thank you to everyone who participated and became the holder of this exclusive gift, a valuable gift to share with someone you love. Thank you for your trust. Only on Telegram," concluded the dagestani.

In the end, the discussion highlighted one point: when McGregor and Khabib cross paths, there seems to be no room for a friendly atmosphere; everything turns to gunpowder, even without pay-per-view, weigh-ins, or an official card.
