Mendes is the only fighter who has had the opportunity to face both Aldo and McGregor, losing to both. For the American, Aldo has many more weapons for the duel, despite recognizing that McGregor also has a chance.

“Aldo is tough! Of course, it's difficult to compare, because I wasn't in my best shape, so it's a little difficult to really evaluate Conor, but I think Aldo hits harder, is faster and has more weapons in his ground game and in his striking skills. I think the only thing that could favor Conor is his physical conditioning. If he can do the same Nick Diaz, with those provocations that he likes to do, which is his strong point, he can have the advantage, but if Aldo prepares himself for that, I don't see how Conor can beat him", declared the North American, in interview on the “Combate” channel website.

The fight between Aldo and McGregor will take place in the city of Las Vegas, in the United States. Mendes fights the day before, in the finals of TUF 22, when he faces Frankie Edgar, in the same city.
