Former UFC champion Frank Shamrock, younger brother of UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock, is part of the extensive list of former athletes who made their mark in the Octagon and are now declared enemies of President Dana White. The most recent example of this tense relationship was Dana's inclusion on a restricted list, alongside the pre-candidate for the presidency of the United States for the Republican Party Donald Trump, of names that he would agree to return to MMA to face.
Shamrock's statement was made shortly after Bellator president Scott Coker revealed that he would try to offer him the fight against Tito Ortiz. “I really didn’t want to. They offered me this fight (against Ortiz), but I had something going on and the moment has passed. I would only go back against Dana White or Donald Trump. Any other person? Thank you, I’m fine”, said Frank, in a good-humoured tone.
Now 42 years old, Frank Shamrock ended his MMA career with a record of 23 wins, ten losses and two draws. Frank was the first champion in the history of the UFC light heavyweight category. “The Legend”, as he is known, defended his belt four times, including a triumph over Tito Ortiz, and then vacated the title, citing a lack of competition in Ultimate. Afterwards, Shamrock would still win the WEC light heavyweight and Strikeforce middleweight belts, before hanging up his gloves definitively.
